If you are interested in graduate or post-doc work related to our research, or have an idea you would like to pursue that you think we would be interested in, please contact Ed Brook by email. Students should have a solid quantitative background – at minimum good results from introductory physics, chemistry, and calculus. Lab and field experience are helpful, but not required. If you are an OSU undergraduate interested in research or perhaps a part time job, contact me or stop by Wilkinson 130.
We are searching for a new post-doc to investigate abrupt carbon cycle dynamics (Principle Investigators: Christo Buizert and Ed Brook).
The 2-year project aims to investigate abrupt carbon cycle dynamics during the Dansgaard-Oeschger and Heinrich climate cycles using high-precision CO2 measurements in ice core samples at unprecedented temporal resolution (decadal), and to investigate its link to abrupt changes in the southern hemisphere westerly winds as seen in multi-proxy reconstructions from Antarctic-wide ice core records.
The full position description and instructions for applying can be found here: https://gradschool.oregonstate.edu/postdocs/open-positions#abrupt-carbon
The application deadline is May 1 2020 and we seek to have someone start in Fall 2020 (exact date negotiable).
